Rajendra Srivastava

Rajendra K. Srivastava, Ph.D. is Provost at Singapore Management University; and is on sabbatical from Emory University where he is previously the Roberto C. Goizueta Professor of Marketing at the Goizueta Business School. Srivastava is the founder and Executive Director of the The Institute of Brand Science at Emory University, a research organization for developing best practices in brand management.

He was born in India and attended the Indian Institute of Technology in Kanpur. He then studied engineering at the University of Rhode Island, and then obtained a Ph.D. in business administration at the University of Pittsburgh. Upon completing his degree he accepted a position at the University of Texas at Austin.

After twenty years at the University of Texas he accepted a named professorship position at the Emory University Goizueta Business School. In 2008, he left Emory to become provost Singapore Management University, replacing Professor Tan Chin Tiong who became the university's Deputy President.

Professional activities

Professor Srivastava has published numerous articles in leading journals, including the Journal of Marketing, and Journal of Market Research. His fields of interest include marketing strategy, brand management, management of market-based assets, customer management, and the financial impact of marketing activities. He is a business consultant for clients including GE, LG, Dow Chemicals, Motorola, Shell, Halliburton, The Coca Cola Company, Hallmark, KPMG and Capital One.

Honors

Dr Srivastava has been recognized for his contributions to the discipline by accolates in the form of the top awards in marketing for scholars. He has received the Maynard Award, Paul Root Award, Alpha Kappa Psi Award, CBA Foundation Award, and Sheth Award.
